SUPER CHARGE YOUR MORNINGS!

HOW TO SUPER CHARGE YOUR MORNINGS!

How you start your mornings is crucial to your day's success, hence the need to start your mornings with the right mindset and energy.

Morning fatigue or inertia can be dispelled instantly with lifestyle changes that keep your energy at its peak all day.

The following lifestyle tips will boost your mornings and ensure an optimal day, regardless of which side of the bed you got up from.

1. Drink Lemon Water:
Start your day right by drinking a glass of warm lemon-infused water. During the long hours of the night, you lose water through sweat and breathing, so your body is a little dehydrated in the morning. Drinking lemon water promotes digestion and increases energy levels. Also, add slices of apple and ginger to your water to boost your metabolism and help that refreshing feeling that gets you going.

2. Exercise:
The rewards of exercising, even just for five minutes as your day begins, include lowering anxiety, boosting energy, and releasing neurotrophins that increase memory, cognition, mood, and other factors correlated to high performance. It also helps you consume fewer calories, burn fat, build muscle, improve sleep quality, and ensure high energy and performance all day.

3. Look Good Feel Good:
A surefire way to power up your mornings and ensure you set out on a high note is to get up and dress up, regardless of how you feel. You will be pleasantly amazed at the boost of cheer, confidence, and energy that looking good gives you.
4. No Sugars for Breakfast:
Breakfast is an important meal and a healthy breakfast provides the energy necessary to kickstart the day. Avoid refined or processed sugars as much as possible. Rather, stick to proteins, vegetables, and fruits. You may also consider cereal, granola, and Greek yogurt as healthy options. Even when you have to leave home early, pack breakfast to go; a sandwich or a nice smoothie will be super-packed with the nutrients that you need for that morning boost.
5. Take Cold Showers:
This may seem like torture to some when compared with the allure of a nice, warm shower but the benefits outweigh the temporary discomfort. Endorphins released in your body during a cold shower are similar to those you emit when you exercise. It also relieves tension and improves memory, mood, and energy.

6. Ditch the Snooze Button:
Did you know that hitting the snooze buttons on your alarms and going back to sleep confuses your body and signals your brain to release hormones for another deep sleep cycle?

Research shows that you need to be asleep for at least 90 minutes before it is considered good sleep.
Snoozing your alarm to catch another 10-20 minutes of sleep throws off your body's natural rhythm and this can affect your mood for the entire day.

These tips and tricks will help you on your way to a great morning every day. Ready? Set. Go!
